This little thing called 'sin'.

"But sin didn't, and doesn't, have a chance in competition with the aggressive forgiveness we call grace. When it's sin versus grace, grace wins hands down. All sin can do is threaten us with death, and that's the end of it. Grace, because God is putting everything together again through the Messiah, invites us into life—a life that goes on and on and on, world without end."

Romans 6:1-14 ------

1-3So what do we do? Keep on sinning so God can keep on forgiving? I should hope not! If we've left the country where sin is sovereign, how can we still live in our old house there? Or didn't you realize we packed up and left there for good? That is what happened in baptism. When we went under the water, we left the old country of sin behind; when we came up out of the water, we entered into the new country of grace—a new life in a new land!

3-5That's what baptism into the life of Jesus means. When we are lowered into the water, it is like the burial of Jesus; when we are raised up out of the water, it is like the resurrection of Jesus. Each of us is raised into a light-filled world by our Father so that we can see where we're going in our new grace-sovereign country.

6-11Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life—no longer at sin's every beck and call! What we believe is this: If we get included in Christ's sin-conquering death, we also get included in his life-saving resurrection. We know that when Jesus was raised from the dead it was a signal of the end of death-as-the-end. Never again will death have the last word. When Jesus died, he took sin down with him, but alive he brings God down to us. From now on, think of it this way: Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you; God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word. You are dead to sin and alive to God. That's what Jesus did.

12-14That means you must not give sin a vote in the way you conduct your lives. Don't give it the time of day. Don't even run little errands that are connected with that old way of life. Throw yourselves wholeheartedly and full-time—remember, you've been raised from the dead!—into God's way of doing things. Sin can't tell you how to live. After all, you're not living under that old tyranny any longer. You're living in the freedom of God.

Haha, what a great success! Sin can't tell us how to live. After all, we aren't even connected to sin anymore, we are living in the freedom of God! Get this, so sometimes as Christians, or even as Non-Christians, we feel like we are attached to something that continuously brings us down, that makes us feel bad about ourselves. This feeling is guilt, guilt for something that we have done. Sometimes it gets so bad that we feel we have no way out, we have done so many brutal terrible things that we are in too deep, and there is no way we can come up and recover. We are simply stuck in that lifestyle for good. *BIG ANNOYING BUZZER* That is a lie!

For Christians, sometimes we think that we need to be completely delivered and set free from everything that is owning us, truth is, we already have been and those things DON'T own us. When we accept that fact that we no longer are controlled by "sin" or by this world, that is when we see break through. The reality of the situation is that God has rescued us from everything that we ever felt "trapped" by. Jesus' last words before dying were "it is finished." All our sin, like He said, is finished. Also meaning, paid in full! Satan will try and tell us that it isn't done, that we are forever trapped in "sin", but it is our job to run so fast and straight away from him that we can clearly see that he is lying. We have to make that connection of faith in our mind that we have been dealt with, we don't belong to this horn head, Lucifer, we belong to Jesus. Heck yes, he died for us to be FREE. So guess what, we are FREE. Because... who the Son sets free is free indeed. Simple as that promise. Haha

Another thing to look at is this, yes we are FREE from being owned by sin, so let's do our part. Let's not give sin the time of day. Let's not even run little errands for sin. Let's throw our lives completely into the right way of living, the fact is, when we do this, we FULLY accept our gift of FREEDOM of sin. I feel like my words can't do this justice, but -- sin can't tell us how to live, we are free to choose how to live our lives, we have been set free, so let's take advantage of our gift and run long and hard into the path that God has made for us.

Such a love, such a love, such a love this is for me. Such an amazing love, it's an overwhelming love, such a love this for me. A love that covers me. This is Jesus, in his glory, king of heaven, dying for me. "IT IS FINISHED", He has done it, death is beaten, heaven beckons me. Death is beaten... Death, is beaten. Greater love, No one could ever show, mercy so undeserved, Freedom, I should not know.

All my sin, all of my hidden shame, died with Him on the cross. Eternity won for us.

I am chosen, I am free, I am living for eternity, free now forever. You picked me up, turned me around, set my feet on solid ground, yours now forever,

Colton
